Creating mood lighting when it isn't completely dark outside is quite hard. But worked here using practical lights and negative fill.

Contrasting the warmth of the grass to the cold hues of the sea.

Using drone lens filters to keep the exposure of the setting sun to a minimum.

Polarizing filters working well on a sunny day to keep the sky a darker hue of blue while maintaining even exposure over the image.

Using a 2-stop filter on the drone to keep exposure even across the image.

Waihi horse rider. Needed to capture the connection with the animal as well as an even light between the two.

Using minimal run and gun camera settings with an anamorphic lens to see how little exposure is required under a canopy of trees.

Using a side 300c light on the left to keep the interview lit evening and a 100bi colour light behind rider to pull him out from the background.

Local council member. Had to capture the discussion in a way that felt low key yet cinematic.

Birds eye drone shot in prime autumn. Keeping warmth in colours and tones so that it would translate through to the message of the video.

Using a 3 stop drone lens filter to not blow out the exposure of the sunrise.

300c bouncing off a silver reflection matt to provide the motorbike with a gleam.

Used a basic shade so that the talent could be lit towards the sun without being blasted by the brightness.

Cinematic colour grade. 6K Videography. Filmed in Timaru, South Canterbury.

Medium shot, 6K videography. Cinematic film LUT colour grading.

Naturally lit interior worked best here. The still reflections from the water doing the heavy lifting here.

Golden hour in the morning made for a perfect introduction to this video series.

Hero angle for firefighter. Suited the intention of the video.

The central composition working here and using all the windows and reflections to create visual interest.

The skin tones in the colour grading worked a treat with the pastel white and brown of the interior.

Using the polarizing lens filter to capture the shadows on a very sunny day. Kept the depth.

Using natural window light to produce a natural spotlight to the character.

Using the lines of the court to create a visual point to draw the eye to the subject.

Using both a shade and a reflector to naturally light while not over brightening the subject.

Drone shot. The colourgrading was enchanced here to bring a bit of Spring life to a Winter's day.

Haze + anamorphic + interesting setting = A great image. Cinematic and captures the entire feeling intended of my work.

Naturally lit on an overcast day to still have shadow depth is harder than it looks!

Under water shot of swimmer. The key here was the get the roof light to beam down enough to expose the swimmer.

Character position with eye line was key here to producing the feeling of the video.

Early morning hero shot. Using the warm tones of the early morning sun with the cold blue of the sky. Creates separation.
